5 Best Places to Catch the World Cup in Nairobi

We have compiled a list of five places where we will be watching this year’s World Cup Games (barring the first one for which the entire UPteam will be headed to Spice Roots for a football koroga, yeah!).

This list is by no means exhaustive and we encourage our readers to write in and tell us where they plan to be watching the most exciting sports tournament of the year…

1. Carnivore :
With their 5 bars and 18 HD screens, Carnivore is undoubtedly a hotspot for proper footie watching action in Nairobi. Throughout the World Cup season they will be selling local beers @ Kshs. 250/-, with a special; buy 5 beers for the price of 4, Beer Bucket Promos and food offers and discounts. The UP team will be heading down there once in a while to watch a game but, most importantly, we will be there en-masse with all our friends for the cup final…. it’s the only place to be!

2. K1 :
K 1 Club House is undeniably one of Nairobi’s top soccer viewing destinations.
Experience matches live and direct from Brasil at the newly installed Heineken K1 Soccer City Stadium inside K1 Club House. We are excited to experience the mini-stadium offers around 100 capacity seating, stadium style arrangements for eager fans, all centered towards 4 massive big screens and surround sound. Also popular within the vicinity is the Tusker Village that goes hand in hand with amazing beer bucket offers and much more. See you at this soccer fiesta?

3. Village Market :

Since the last World Cup hosted in South Africa 2010 , Village Market has been one of the top hotspots to catch the games, have some cold kegs, food and experience the games on their BIG screens positioned all over the food court. This in turn means the popular Friday evenings at Village Market are now back!!
If you didn’t make it to Brasil, get ready for the grand opening of the Village World Cup Festival this Friday (June 13th ) at the food court with a fashion catwalk and thrilling performances from the BeatHogs!

4. Brew Bistro :

Viva Brazil! Viva! In honour of the 2014 World Cup , Brew Bistro have concocted a special World Cup brew: The “Brazilian Chia Spiced Lager” . On the long list of offers during this soccer season at Brew Bistro are food specials, extended Happy Hour from 5pm to 8pm and the World Cup Shooter Countdown on the weekend.

5. The Tribe Hotel :
Tribe hotel, located right next to the Village Market has unbelievable deals and treats in store for the 2014 World Cup, right from the opening ceremony till the final. Football fever is spreading through the hotel halls and we cannot wait for their Culinary Journey which will feature Celebrity Chef Isadora Becker in collaboration with Chef Luca Molteni. The two will be rustling up an array of delicious treats for all soccer fans. Join in on the fun with authentic Brazilian entertainment, signature cocktails, great food and even a virtual penalty kick game.
