Skirting Around Police Uniform Dilemmas

The issue of ‘tight security’ refuses to go away with reports that a ‘tight-up skirt’ female officer who has been trending since Sunday was reprimanded for her dressing. The officer now fears being transferred to remote posts. The corporal traffic police officer based at Kiambu police division was undertaking official duty at the KCB Kenya National rally on Sunday. Her photo was published by Sunday Nation which caused an unprecedented outburst from members of the public and police.

Corporal Linda Okello was summoned by the local county commander James Mugeria on Monday morning and told to give an explanation why her official skirt was tight. She was also instructed to carry along the skirt for verification on whether it was the official police uniform she was issued. Throughout the questioning, Corporal Okello insisted that the skirt was her official uniform and that she had gained weight since it was issued. County Commandant James Mugeria gave her back the skirt after the grilling.

For those of you who don’t know, Linda Okello holds a Diploma in Criminology and Social Order (UON) and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Peace Studies. She has a service experience of 10 years and is currently attached to traffic unit of Kiambu County.

The big question remains, what crime has she committed??
