UP Event Review: Spanish Festival Launch at Sarova Stanley

The Thorn Tree at the Sarova Stanley has its roots in history (pun intended) -the very first post office in Nairobi was based there. On Monday evening, the iconic restaurant was thronged with invited guests, dignitaries, media and friends of the Spanish Embassy in Nairobi. The official opening was graced by His Excellency the Spanish Ambassador to Kenya.

Sarova Hotels, Resorts and Game Lodges had partnered with Turkish Airlines for this official opening of the Spanish Festival.

The Catalans gastronomic marriage of food and wine was way evident on the offerings at the event. The waiters were also dressed in traditional Spanish attire :flamboyant and colourful dresses which reflect the passionate Spanish culture.

Running till Friday this week, Sarova promises a fuel of amazing cuisine marched with flamenco beats and dances; tapas and definitely, wine.

“We want normal folks to come to Sarova Stanley this week and experience the very best of Spanish culture,” noted Janet Kay, the Digital Marketing Executive with Sarova Hotels Kenya.

Expressing continued support, Turkish Airlines representatives at the event noted that they would continue to put more weight and promote art events.

With many airline companies often opting to support festivals that are from their countries of origin, Turkish Airlines noted that they fly many times in a week to Spanish area and regions than any airline and hence their support was central for such an event and also an act of good faith with their longtime friends and partners, Sarova Hotels Kenya.
