UP Music: New Video Alert -King Kaka Banks on Rich Mavoko for ‘Lini’
If ever the history books of African music will be re-written, then King Kaka and Rich Mavoko will definitely make the cut, not just as vocal powerhouses but also two separate brands that perfectly blend Swahili and sheng on this new collaboration.
Their second track together, Cedo of Pacho Entertainment once again mixes down the audio so perfectly.
Lini is a song is about a man who has not seen his girlfriend in a while because she lives in Dar- es -Salaam while he is in Nairobi. King Kaka and Rich Mavoko have previously collaborated on the song, Njoo and cultivated a good relationship since.
“Rich and I are good friends and we work well together. We recorded Lini when he had come to Kenya to shoot the video Njoo,” said King Kaka.
Shot in the beautiful Dar in Tanzanian, talented director Johnson Kyalo brings to life a warm, rich and creamy blend of strength and sensitivity, ingrained with deep meaning delivered in a husky rasp.
The exquisite vocals of Rich Mavoko and his repetitive hook on the chorus will have you singing back to this track- trust us, we did too! The punch lines of King Kaka’s poetic flow just wins you over, sweeping you off your feet from the onset.
Let us know what you think. Is it a hit or a miss ?
