In order to celebrate World Hospices and Palliative Care Day 2011 , the Kenya Hospices and Palliative Care Association will be screening a movie, WIT, which is an award winning film featuring the renowned Emma Thompson and Harold Pinter. It is a movie based on the 1999 Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Margaret Edson. It tells the story of Vivian Bearing (Emma Thompson), a 48-year-old university professor, who learns the importance of simple human kindness when faced with daunting crises after being diagnosed with advanced cancer. A drinks reception and raffle will follow the film screening and all proceeds from this event will directly support KEHPCA.
