UP Fashion Blogger Share: Tighty Wightie, Style Sketches
Tighty Wighty is a post done during Anita Gaitho’s late pregnancy stage. It actually makes you feel like you can flaunt anything when you are pregnant, and especially white! Besides this, she also talks about the challenges she has to go through as she hears people’s negative comments about her belly. We all know those hateful comments that people make when referring to expectant women, especially those with a public standing.
Since I hit the last stages of my pregnancy, I’ve started receiving such rude comments, I can’t believe how ridiculous people can be. I’m now 36 weeks along and I can probably write a book’s worth on the rude comments and silly questions that I’ve been getting. The most recent. and high up on the list of most offensive has been hearing how big my lips and nose have gotten. Say what now? I didn’t stand up for myself because I was caught off-guard but the next time someone says something rude to me, I’ll be so ready to throw back a rude retort. And the next stranger that attempts to touch my belly is getting kicked in the crotch.
In better news, my wonderful sisters and friends threw me a surprise baby shower on Saturday. I was caught completely off guard. It’s the first party that’s ever been thrown for me and I still can hardly believe I didn’t suspect a thing. I’m just so happy and looking forward more than ever to meet my little one.
Belete and I shot these pics in the C.B.D. As I was standing by that building, some parking boys decided to spectate and being the shy person that I am, I kept telling Belete I wanted to change locations and look for an empty area to shoot at. After a small pep talk, I sighed and told him, “OK, let’s do it.” Unlike other times when I’m comfortable and shoot dozens of photos of each outfit, we only shot a few ‘cos I wanted it done quick. It’s strange that I’ve been blogging for so many years but I’ve still not gotten accustomed to having my photos taken with passers by watching. So, I suppose that’s something I need to challenge myself on.
