IMAX Kenya Special invite to ‘Jurassic World’ Opening, the Park is now Open

After three films in the ‘Jurassic Park’ series, it looks as if the scientists who tinkered with genetics to bring back dinosaurs still haven’t learned their lesson. Jurassic World opens on cinemas worldwide today and IMAX Kenya wants you to experience this phenomenon.

This Friday, Nairobi comes alive once again to the unpeaceable behemoth kingdom of the Jurassic World’s dinosaurs.

Once again, the dinosaurs are on the roam, even as man, heavy with folly (as is always the case), tries to play God in the Hollywood franchise based on the best-selling novel by Michael Crichton.

With its global brand recognition, Universal Pictures anticipates to rake in high revenues from this 2015 reboot flick’s market tie-ins, big tickets sales and theme park attractions which sadly see Director Steven Spielberg’s name miss the usual title of Director on the credits.

Despite having directed the first two flicks, movie lovers are in for a great treat as Director Colin Trevorrow, under a heavy hand of blessing from Executive Producer, Steven Spielberg (of course Spielberg had to be in this) brings to life the dinosaurs, a task bestowed upon him with heavy expectations which he fulfills to the best of his capability.

The 3D IMAX max experience will take you into the lush green park as you stomp, hop and jump with the digital dinosaurs. You will travel 22 years after the first film into the now functioning park and get enthralled as the scientists engineer a new dinosaur, Indominus Rex. Still having not learnt from the past two flicks experiences and because of low attendance, park officials have opted for a genetically modified creature to join some of the more familiar ones franchise fans have come to know love and fear.

The film takes place on an eco-tourism island turned luxury resort, with the usual odd-couple cuties, Bryce Dallas and Chris Pratt.

Mr. Pratt plays Owen, an interdeterminate animal expert, while Ms. Howard plays Claire, a stubborn corporate stooge, who believes that dinosaurs can be tamed.

Claire’s towering heels (you will see them a lot) endure her run from the behemoths, over cement, through mud all without breaking a heel, leave alone twisting her ankle.

Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson acting as brothers out on a holiday, get tangled inside the park and in the middle of the dinosaur action. For romance lovers, ‘Jurassic World’ has a little taste of mush. Hunk Owen eventually melts the heart of the ice queen Claire like ice on a hot jiko.

For us and any movie lover out there, part of the appeal of ‘Jurassic World’ is looking at the growth and developments over the years. From bleeding-edge computer- generated imagery in 1993 to a 2015 3D upgrade that will surely fossilize this Hollywood adventure flick.
