Photographer of the Week: Mwangi Kirubi aka Mwarv
We stumbled upon Mwarv’s blogpost ‘Someone Please Wake Up @MagicalKenya’ and loved his insight and the amazing pictures. Mwangi Kirubi who is also part of One Touch Live is this week’s photographer.
How long have you been in photography?
I started off by shooting videos in 1998 but switched to photography in 2006. It wasn’t until 2009 that I decided to dive into photography full time.
What camera do you use?
I am a Canonite. Not because it’s the better brand but it was the first professional camera I got my hands on and I love it.
Did you receive formal training or are you self taught?
I am the headmaster in street school. I didn’t receive any training in photography and have learnt through my mistakes.
What are your favourite kind of photography?
I love telling stories of people making a difference in society through the photos I take.
Tell us something about yourself.
I am allergic to crazy drivers
What inspires you?
I am inspired by people who never grow weary when pursuing their goals.
