Pre-Event Profile: Francophonie Fortnight 2016 Edition
March is here once again, the time when Francophones and French lovers meet together to celebrate the French cuisine, sports and fashion at the Francophonie Fortnight.
The event, which will be between March 11th and April 2nd is brought to you by the Kenya Association of Teachers of French (KATF), the Linguistic Bureau of the French Embassy and the Francophone Embassies in Kenya.
It’s objective is to celebrate, every year all over the world, the diversity as well as the common values that make up the Francophonie.
This will therefore be a time to enjoy entertainment and cultural activities dedicated to the French language, all over the country (Alliance Francaise de Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret; French School Lycee Denis Diderot, Kenyan Universities and Kenyan Secondary Schools.
The activities will mainly include seminars, movies, cocktails, sporting, cultural and the highlight, Francophonie International Day,set to target more than 2000 Kenyan students from all over the country. This will be held on Sunday, 20th of March 2016, at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies, Thika Road.
Get your palettes in check as you also prepare for a typical French menu with a hint of Kenyan culture in three different restaurants of Nairobi, as you sway to the Francophonie Bal, while the price of your ticket will cater for the support of educational projects in Kenya.
