No one really says what it’s for however in our experience is essentially the easiest way to find out if any of your friends are gay/bi and find a nearby partner for…’yoga’. Grindr uses your phone’s inbuilt GPRS to find people who match your chosen criteria and allows you to message them and maybe link up for coffee, lunch, a movie or ‘yoga’. Grindr’s appeal is that it actually shows you who is nearest as opposed to giving you a ball park estimate of where a person is such as in Tinder. Down is a combination of both Grindr and Tinder although it doesn’t bother with any of the pretense of the other two. Down was formerly known as bang with friends an app whose name speaks for itself. It goes through your Facebook friends list and allows you to pick someone to have sex with or go on a date with. Down evidently was created by a group of people whose mentality matches that of #TeamMafisi. You log into the app you encounter a Tinder like interface , however, it’s slightly different. You swipe right to skip, up to indicate that you want to go on a date with the person highlighted or down to tell the app that you want to have sex with them. While Down is a stellar app, however, it fails. After fifteen minutes of random swiping you begin to notice that it’s not friends who have the app that appear but the entirety of your friends list whether they have the app or not. You’re literally digging into your Facebook friends list just looking for a quick shag. That’s pretty low. That’s like updating your status update with your name and phone number with the words “please sleep with me.” At least with the other apps you have the pretence of looking for a friend.
