The Oscars are the event of the year where fashion and film fuse. While the Academy has come under fire for their lack of diversity when it comes to rewarding actors and actresses of color, fashion on the red carpet doesn’t seem to know race.

Well we can say that she was trying to be a little safe when wearing black, but what else do you expect from Whoopi. She has always carried out an authentic simplicity in her demeanor and would gladly have a pass when it comes to this outfit. The elegance still stands though.
