UP Fashion: Maintaining your eyelash extensions
The history of eyelash extensions date back to 1916, when a famed Hollywood director D.W. Griffith, initiated the idea of an actress, Seena Owen to have the most exquisite lashes one has ever seen. Since then, they have become such an addictive fashion item in our wardrobes.
They can appear so dramatic that you won’t need any other makeup on. The process of maintenance can be tedious though. You therefore need to tighten your arm muscles for some beauty tips cause ‘pretty hurts’.
Go Lighter
People usually think that the heavier the eyelashes, the better. However, they are prone to falling out and peeling off at this point. Always ask your lash specialist for lighter individual lashes. This will range from .05mm to .07mm.
Lie on your back
Just after attaching these eyelash extensions, you will need to lie on your back, since the glue takes some time to dry. This requires a lot of discipline but after a night or two, you can resume to your normal sleeping posture.
Gently cleanse your eye area
During your cleansing routine, be very careful while approaching your eyelids. When removing your eye makeup, gently go over the area with a cleansing wipe, other than placing cotton buds or puffs over your lids.
Lubricate them
You may think that keeping dry eyelashes makes you look better and neater. However, applying oil on them everyday will give you a better look. This helps keep them flexible. You can drop a little baby oil on your fingers and rub on the lashes. While doing this, also remember to comb them to prevent criss crossing.
Avoid playing with them
Normally, your natural eyelashes will shed off and having extensions help them pull off. In case an extension looks out of place, do nut pluck it out as this may interfere with your natural eyelashes. Let them come out on their own and then brush the remaining ones with a spoolie brush to define them.
