UP Music- New Video Alert: Avril and AY Team Up on ‘No Stress’
What’s on Avril’s mind? She sits for a chat with her girls in the red-brick interiors room. One of the girls is dressed in a polka dot mini skirt and the other has a short dress, both rocking high-heeled shoes. The girls look so concerned and worried about Avril.
Avril is in the centre, her hair pulled on the side, showing off her well done make-up. She reassures her girls that she is not stressed over the man who has left her and they proceed to jump on her bed, juggling balloons, dancing and generally letting their hair down. They are getting ready to hit the club, party and dance the night away.
“I wrote the first verse primarily around what young girls go through when they first fall hopelessly in love and do not want to accept that somehow the situation they are in is not the space they want to be in or should be in. So we should learn to say no more and step out,” Avril.
The jazzy-bluesy beats by Cedo of Pacho Entertainment heavily complement the tracks message - the metrical piano cuts in and flows with the stringy guitar, and the fluttering drum and bass rhythms flow perfectly, as if they were carefully plotted on graph paper.
The left curtain pulls to reveal AY - he is seated at a club’s table, meticulously dressed in a charcoal black suit topped off with a fedora hat. The costume designer’s approach perfectly encapsulates the suave look usually associated with jazz music lovers.
Not one to slack or come up with lazy lines, AY kicks it off with punch lines so hard, they will literally blow you away.
“Working with AY again was awesome. He was very receptive to the project and we hit the studio just as fast as I told him about it,” adds Avril.
The product placement of Absolut Vodka cannot be overlooked. It is a strategic marketing and perhaps a welcomed support of the brand in supporting local music talent.
No Stress was produced by the talented Cedo and the video was shot in Dar -es -Salaam by Tanzanian video director, Hanscana.
