UP Music - New Video Alert: ‘Zingua’ by Amos and Josh

It was impossible to bypass Amos and Josh new track visuals, ‘Zingua’. “I’m not sober/I’m not sober/ because I have taken Guinness” goes the original lines by Jamnazi Band’s Awilo Mike.

Awilo’s soothing voice compounds the excellence of the band and has made them one of Kenya’s most sought performing groups. Now Amos and Josh bring a twist to one of their most recognized lyrics with “I’m not sober/ yet I have taken nothing.”

This is the third single from East Africa’s youngest and freshest Pop act, the dynamic duo of Amos & Josh. The lyrics brings out a sweet and clubby mood to the jam, showcasing Amos and Josh’s versatile songwriting and unexpected cross generational reach.

Their first two singles have placed Amos and Josh on an enviable steady rise in the East African Music Sound getting recognition and salutations from Bongo superstar Ali Kiba, BET Award nominees Sauti Sol and Eddy Kenzo.

Amos and Josh are now the most successful and promising musicians to come out of Tusker Project Fame music reality TV Show, where they emerged first runners up in the 6th season. Their debut song Smile was co-written by Bien Aime Alusa of Sauti Sol. In addition to one of the most successful collaborations Nerea which is currently at 1.3 million views since it was released, they are currently riding charts with Baadaye featuring Rabbit King Kaka and Promised Land which they were featured by Rabbit King Kaka.

Zingua is witty ( ‘If your name is Lupita, then my name is Oscar and if this is a competition then you have won me over’) and its underlying message is pure love –a man mesmerised by the beauty of an African girl. The song is poised to be a club banger as it makes you want to dance within the first seconds into the song. Its sound - is a statement of the uniqueness and simplicity in Amos and Josh’s touch in the Kenyan music.

Cedric ‘Cedo’ Kadenyi of Pacho Entertainment is the producer behind the track and has sprinkled a nice bit of afro-pop beats on this track. Blue Spire Entertainment and Enos Olik of Bokeh Family, produce and direct this artistic video with the backdrop of amazing work by Bold Face Artistry.

The comical video features a cameo appearance of super casts; comedian Abel Mutua, songstress Phy Ngetich, Benta, Dj Smasher, Kishala, dancers Ground Shakers , Sharon and Joe.
