UP Music: Jaguar and Zikki Take it Slow on This New Track

In March 2015, Zikki Tu made its debut television appearance on the Power Breakfast Show on Citizen TV. Back then, they had just begun to generate a buzz amongst the few audiences that had attended their shows in different entertainment spots.

A few months down the line, they’re back with an amazing collaboration, ‘Take it Slow’ featuring Jaguar, is the track that will position Zikki as one of the fastest rising bands from the Mainswitch Recording label stable.

Rising from the vibrant streets of Kariobangi, the band is poised for greatness. It is made up of four youthful and gifted musicians, Bianju Morris - lead vocalist, Evans Macharia - bass guitarist, Moses Otieno -lead guitarist and Kelvin Kamande as drummer.

Supported by an expanding fan base that appears not to be restricted to any specific demographic or cultural boundaries, these boys are on every leading DJ’s playlist and on every promoter’s shortlist - generating huge buzz on social media and the entertainment scene space.

If there is a reliable, influential and a touch of cross-over music outfit out there, Zikki Tu makes the cut without a doubt.

With their unique voices and their enigmatic personas, this down-to-earth band manages to draw in crowds of all ages.

In ‘Take it Slow’, the sultry notes of the guitar draw in the listener, and their silky voices pull you in soon thereafter. Love is now in the air and the emotional exchange between the two artists - one advising the poor fellow not to give up on a rich girl - fills the audience with nostalgia.

The ongoing theme of the track is the ubiquitous Nairobi love story - the hope of a poor boy from Eastlands who falls for a rich girl, a love that strengthens despite facing challenges such as language barriers, poverty and other difficult circumstances.
