Instant Live Music Downloads With Mdundo at UPStairs Event
This month (March 19th), the anticipated UPStairs event is a collaboration between UP magazine, Penya Africa and Mdundo. We bring you the ultimate musical experience that includes performances by the multitalented Fena Gitu and graduates from the famed Penya Africa Academy: Vereso and KIU. All the acts are set to take the stage by storm. In addition to the music galore, guests can whet their taste-buds with free samples from RedBull and Raka cheese.
To take it a notch higher, Mdundo, Kenya’s premier music download platform will facilitate instant consumption of that night’s best songs. Every performance by the eclectic Fena, the soulful Vereso and versatile trio, KIU will be recorded and will be available for download after the end of the event. We are very excited to channel music live which will be instantly downloadable, a feat that has never been done as instantly in Kenya.
For those not familiar to these acts, here’s a great opportunity to witness the stellar acts that will shape the ever-evolving Kenyan music scene in months to come. The UPStairs event is a monthly mid-week pop up in exciting new spaces where guests can enjoy fantastic music in an outstanding setting. Born in 2012 out of the need to support current rising stars by giving them a platform to showcase their latest sounds, past events have featured artists like Blinky Bill and Sage.
The first The UPStairs was a three-day extravaganza held in 2012 (November 16th, 21st and 24th). The following year, The UPStairs was held at the Treehouse on May 24th 2012. Due to the great success of the last two events, The UPStairs is now a monthly mid-week celebration of music and the music lovers.
