Artist of the Day: Lionel Garang
Garang is half Tanzanian, half Kenyan. He was born in Kenya and comes from a background of artists: His mother is a fashion designer and his brother an artist.
After secondary school, he started drawing graphics on p.s.v vehicles in Nairobi, Kenya. He then moved on to painting on canvas using acrylic paints. He makes sculptures using fiber matt and raisin. La
ter on, he applied for an internship at the National Museum of Kenya Exhibit department as an artist and a sculptor.
He has participated in an exhibition at the village market with the Lake Basin art group and gets his inspiration from Mr. Kevin Odor, Mr. Patrick Adoyo and his elder brother Mr. Conrad Teddy.
