Yasiin Bey Debut Show in Kenya
It is confirmed that celebrated American hip hop artist Yassin Bey better known as Mos Def will be hosted by Nairobi Rapsody on May 28th 2015 at Ebony Lounge, Westlands, Nairobi - Kenya. This his first trip to East Africa.
Yasiin Bey - ranked 24th on the 50 Top MCs of our time by the Source Magazine is an artist known for his strong socially conscious views and songs. He was a member of the super hip hop duo Black Star with Talib Kweli. He later embarked on colorful and successful solo career that has seen him release worldwide hits like ‘Traveling Man’ with DJ Honda and ‘Miss Fat Booty’ - both have garnered him international acclaim.
Yasiin Bey is humbled to be invited to Kenya and is looking to showcase at Nairobi Rapsody and having a great experience. He will also visit a community center in Nairobi to do some charity work with young people in the slums.
Call for all hip hop fans in Nairobi: the gates to the must-attend event (on Thursday 28th May 2015) open at 9:00 p.m. Music entertainment by DJs: G Money and Blinky Bill. Kenyan artists Bamboo and Rabbit will open for Yasiin Bey - who will grace the stage from around 11:00 p.m.
