African Metropolis (Ends on the 20th)
African Metropolis – a compilation of six short films from six African cities - will be screened for the first time in Nairobi from the 18th-20th July. The short films shot in Abidjan, Cairo, Dakar, Johannesburg, Lagos and Nairobi, focus on the forming and transforming of urban African cultures. The project points the way towards a new African cinema, far removed from the cliché of rural Africa. Kenya’s metropolis Nairobi offers three days of screenings at three different locations. Each space will offer a different setting, doing justice to different aspects of the pan-African compilation.
