2014 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards
The 2014 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards are on again this Saturday (March 8th) boasting a stellar line-up of musical acts andthe hottest African talent from 6:00 p.m. CAT.As one of Africa’s biggest film and television events the awards will bring bring together the key players in Africa’s powerful film and television industry first on the prestigious Red Carpet and then at the ceremony.
Hosted by Ik Osakioduwa and Vimbai Mutinihri of Big Brother Africa and Osas Ighodaro of Africa Magic’s Tinsel, the awards show will start at 7:30 p.m. CAT.
The AMVCAs, held in association with MultiChoice Africa and Amstel Malta will be held in Lagos, Nigeria, featuring performances from award-winning Nigerian group Kakadu, Chanel O Award winner Davido, acclaimed pianist and musician Cobhams, highlife hit maker Flavour, and vivacious vocalist Waje.
In total, 29 awards including 9 voted for by viewers, will be given with winners coming from a range of fields including acting, directing, writing, editing, costume design, sound, lighting, make-up, cinematography, and art direction. The nominations are across a variety of productions and genres, from drama and comedy features to documentaries, online video and short film.Make sure you catch the most anticipated awards: TrailBlazer, Industry Merit, and New Era.
