Day 36: Diana wears Pencil Skirt from Vivo Activewear who now produce some of its range in Kenya, pearl studded blouse from Jane Sews designed by Amy Venter graduate of Lisof Schooloffashion (Made in Durban), fabric print belt from Doreen Mashika of the luxury ethical label Doreen Mashika (Made In Zanzibar) and the gorgeous clutch from mille collines (Made In Kigali)

Who knew we had so many African designers? Think-out-of-the-box designers? pushing-the-envelope designers? Opoti took it upon herself to showcase the vibrancy of African fashion by taking photographs of herself everyday draped in the finest garb in her campaign #100DaysofAfricanFashion.

Donning names like Anisa Mpungwe of Loin Cloth and Ashes, Zeebaan Designs, Doreen Mashika, Wandia Gichuru, Mustafa Hassanali, Buqisi Ruux among others, she effortlessly gives an educational on new, bespoke and innovative designers. Opoti has succeeded in is bringing to the fore the wide array of designers making exquisite clothes, shoes and accessories well within our reach.

There is little value in lauding the Pradas, Guccis and Chanels of the world when we have indigenous creatives weaving the purest materials to make distinctively African clothing that are hot on trend.
