#DXD2015: Architectural Design Disruption
The built environment is changing from time to time. No longer do you see the grass-thatched roofs that used to rock the the country-side (Which I miss from time to time), but skyscrapers and beautifully designed hotels and malls gracing our skies. Some are even inspired by the old way of life, allowing for an ancient look with a modern touch.

COLOUR IN FAITH
‘Colour in Faith’ is setting an impressive trend - the art orchestration creates space for the expression of faith in humanity and universal values. Their goal is to bring together communities in different cities across Kenya -and eventually Africa- by focusing on houses of worship, and colour the physical structures that hold these communities together yellow.

KASHYAP GOHEL
When talking about environmental friendly structures, Kashyap Gohel well thought out designs immediately come to mind. His project ‘Wind Facade’ is geared towards addressing issues of global warming in developing countries, especially settlements along coastlines. Back in his hometown Mombasa, he has come up with a solution to provide housing away from the mainland, further into the ocean. At the same time, the towers have the ability to utilize wind power to desalinate the ocean water and supply it to the communities in the mainland.
