Existence II Exhibition Opens at Kuona
A very thought provoking concept-based exhibition has opened at Kuona Trust. Dubbed, Existence II, through the exhibition, veteran artist and sculptor Kevin Oduor continues to question existence and our perspective of the human form. During a private opening (29th January), with UP in attendance, invited guests had the pleasure of viewing the exhibition that flaunts the artist’s use of his three dimensional expression.
In the sizeable exhibition room, there are half bodied art pieces, some in denim and converse hanging (elongated by strings) or standing, mostly without a torso. With these fascinating art works, artist Kevin seeks to get an answer to the question: Do we exist in a void? The figure of a human being, yet absent, is represented by the material.
The artist seeks to work in diversity, exploring further in the range of material, creativity and technique. After 20 years of working as a sculptor, and working on many commissioned pieces, Kevin is now enjoying the creation of a new artistic three-dimension style that he insists is still headed towards more adjustments. In 2012, he held Existence I Exhibition that questioned the existence of objects.
“For those of you not inclined to artistic practice but still possess a curiosity about art and creativity, this exhibition will send your mind on a tangent of questions that will leave you wanting to know more,” Kuona Trust advises.
