Heineken Foosball Challenge makes an exciting return
Football fans will be delighted to learn that Heineken’s annual Foosball Tournament is back from March 28th 2014. This is the second year in which Kenyans will have the opportunity to battle it out for the grand prize: a trip to the Spanish island of Ibiza to watch a live screening of the 2014 Union of European Football Association (UEFA) Champions League final.
Foosball is a game where opponents stand on either side of a table which has miniature football pitch inclusive of football players, goals and a ball. Each side has to try and score goals using the handle bars connected to the players.
A total of 16 bars across the country will host the foosball challenge, but the following will be the Nairobi venues: Crow Daddys (March 28th), Black Diamond, Heri Square, Cubbanno, Taidys Nairobi, Tribeka, Tamasha Hurlingham and Rafikiz Lang’ata. Teams of two can register at the bar on the evening of the challenge. The winners of each outlet will compete in the finals on April 30th against other winners from other bars and clubs.
At the Foosball Tournament launch on March 11 2014, Sankara Hotel, the East Africa General Manager, Mr. Koen Morshuis, said: “Heineken is for the second year launching this exciting foosball tournament. We aim to create exciting UEFA Champions League experiences for our customers by engaging them in a way only Heineken can do. The Heineken Foosball Tournament aims at challenging our consumers to demonstrate their skills and talent.”
