How To: Rock a Hat
From a mile away, you can spot Eddie Kirindo’s hats and knack for style. From head to toe, his outfits always shout Uber Trendy. “My passion for fashion isn’t measurable,” says the connoisseur of hats whose been working in the world of fashion (and in several countries) as a stylist for nearly eight years.
“Fashion is part of me,” he explains “because it’s the one thing I do with ease.” From newsboy, beanies, fedoras, beret, breton to a sailor; Eddie is almost always rocking hats, and somehow manages to pair whichever he’s got on with any outfit— even suits. Many people shy away from hats in fear of seeming overdressed or their torso not matching their entire outfit but with the right hat, and the know-how to pairing it - we can all be saved from the fear of wearing hats.
“They are timeless pieces. I feel like a regular dude without a hat,” admits Eddie, adding that “Each has its own distinctive feeling that befits diverse attitude.” Turns out, you need just a little more than your head to rock a hat. “A hat should compliment your facial shape and suit your style. But because fashion is a reflection of personality; you don’t need to go all fad without having your individuality factored,” he advises and leaves a tip “Porkpie hat is currently trending.” Eddie likes to buy his hats at Woolworths.
