Naija Nite: Hype, No-Shows and Twerkers.

Churches around the city must’ve been packed yesterday, because sins were certainly committed over the weekend. Ladies twerked like rent money would be transferred to their account, by the time Sunday mass was starting.

The highly anticipated Naija Nite event (10.26.2013) was thoroughly entertaining. In between the drinking and dancing, we realized Madtraxx and Klint the Alcoholic were not going to perform. Meanwhile, inner wear was exposed as people twerked their way onstage, and all around the Carnivore grounds. (The thirst was palpable but highly amusing to watch).

Homeboyz Radio personality, DJ Kafi, played some monster hits to keep the people entertained and it was one hell of a mix. Mercy Myra looked good but unfortunately her song selections were not so appropriate for the event. The men didn’t seem to mind though, as those abs had everyone’s attention.

A special mention must go to DNG for being an excellent hypeman, and keeping people excited for the next acts on stage. By the time Atumpan came on, the crowd was enthusiastic, and forgiving, about the fact that it was 2:00 a.m. and Burna Boy still hadn’t performed. Atumpan sang his new song, “Clap Clap”, which was well received.

Burna Boy took command of that stage in his gold jewelry and trademark sunglasses, we’re sure many a woman questioned her relationship status as he performed the monster hit, “Tonight”, topless.

In short, Naija Nite was entertaining despite the tardiness of the acts.
