The Kings are Crowned

Sarabi set the bar very high for future claims to the throne returning to the Alliance Française stage last Friday (Feb 28th 2014) with lyrical fire and stage presence compared to the likes of Bob Marley and Fela Kuti. They appeared on stage dressed in their trademark head-to-toe white outfits and electrified the audience with hits like “Sheria” and beautiful songs from their debut like, “Oyaore”.

The crowd went wild with joy and were seen constantly dancing. With Isabelle, the relatively new female addition to the eight-man band adding a fresh tone to their celebrated sound, Sarabi’s music not only touched a social chord but lifted hearts with hope and wonder. Guests Tear Drops, a winner of the Poetry Slam Africa title and a distinguished spoken word artist; and the Vocal Choir joined Sarabi on stage.

The concert conveyed themes and messages close to the Kenyan heart with lyrical prowess and vocal perfection. The event started a series of 12 concerts in 12 months at Alliance Francaise’s garden featuring Sarabi hosting a surprise artist for every event. It’s a great platform to expose new talent and fresh sounds. Sarabi proved that they are united and they are strong, they are Kings of this arena and with brave plans for the future, they will be Kings for as long as they keep rocking.
