Top 10 Earring Stalls in Nairobi

Don’t you hate it when you step out to go to work in the morning and half way there you realise you haven’t worn any earrings?

Ok, maybe it’s not the end of the world … but still, is it really such a crime to want to stand out and look pretty while we drudge our way through our nine to five?

With this in mind, we sent our team of investigative reporters out to scour the streets of Nairobi to compile for us a list of the top ten boutiques, stalls and hole in the wall shops, selling the funkiest, most colourful, cheapest and most original earrings in town.

The list is in no way complete and this being Nairobi, we don’t exactly have proper post codes to better pinpoint the exact location of the shops. That said, we are confident that if you entrust the task to your inner sleuth, you will be able to locate the right places when that time for buying earrings swings around again.

1. Moi Avenue, a few shops after Bata (the one next to Galitos) most of those small earring shops got mad styles and cheap deals going on.
2. Market stalls, 1^st floor, opposite Jamia Mall, town. You’ll find it, just look hard enough!
3. Shop on Tom Mboya Street, opposite Ukwala supermarket. The shop is big with many stalls, you’ll find two ladies selling earrings so unique that they are unmissable.
4. Tom Mboya Street, inside Tuskys Imara, Nawal Store.
5. Maasai Market, High Court parking lot, every Saturday.
6. Ground floor of Nakumatt Lifestyle near the exit.
7. Kazuri Jewellery, in Junction and Village Market.
8. Yaya Centre, Maasai market, every Sunday.
9. Hilton Hotel, street level hallway, curio shops.
10. Triangle Market near the Westlands roundabout… there are many stalls selling earrings but only one that has really original ones. You have to walk into the covered market and walk down the bit that runs parallel to Park road, the stall is on the right, keep your eyes peeled, it really stands out!
