UP Music: New Track Alert - ‘Mafeelings’ By Dela

She has got a voice that commands, yet soothes at the same time. She is not just a dynamic performer, but also a magnificent song writer and composer with the makings of an international superstar. In this game, there can only be one great artist in each scene and Taurus Musik seems hell-bent on ensuring that Dela gets that spot.

With the push comes the marketing of tracks - this week ‘Mafeelings’ was played on radio for the first time this morning on Radio Maisha.

The fast tempo of ‘Mafeelings’ makes it quite a great track to groove to. The message is one everyone can relate to - the anger and disappointment you feel when you finally discover the deceptive nature of the people you hold dearest. In the song, Dela has discovered that her friend and her ex have been having an illicit affair behind her back and is not at all amused, hence the catchy hook ‘nimecatchi mafeelings.’ The lyrics are all too relate-able and will definitely get stuck in your head all day.

When talking about the single, Dela revealed to Radio Maisha that the track was actually based on real events and a response to somebody that was once close to her. But before the official track and press release hit our inboxes, we received an email from one Donna Muthoni.

The email in part read,

“We have all heard the catchy lyrics to Dela’s new hit song ‘Mafeelings’ addressing the hurtful betrayal that comes from people who are close to you. An issue many of us face… Word is going round that this song is about a real life experience involving our very own top DJ Pierra Makena!”

Donna in her email claims that Dela has surely put DJ Pierra in her place with this banger, especially after a recent incident that had happened before the release of the song. The two were spotted at an uptown classy joint having a heated argument about a mutual male friend. An observer said, ‘the fight was stopped before it got too physical.” We are not sure if this is a marketing campaign or whether it is factual, but what is true is that the song is destined to be a banger.

If you haven’t listened to ‘Mafeelings’ yet, you are seriously missing out! R-Kay once again brings out the best in Dela, and the song is destined to be a great hit countrywide.
