UP Track Of The Week: Sauti Sol & Tim Rimbui - Higher Haiya

Tim Rimbui- popularly known as ‘Ennovator’- is a Kenyan record producer, sound engineer and songwriter who has worked with many prominent Kenyan and East African artists. He is generally thought of as one of the leading music producers in Kenya.

Rimbui teams up with one of East Africa’s biggest groups Sauti Sol to deliver this upbeat and extremely catchy tune Higher Haiya.

 

Higher Haiya is a song about one’s life ambitions when they were young, looking back and reminiscing on them. It talks of one wanting to achieve their dreams and to aspire to be the best in everything in what they do.

 

The song talks of hard work and determination and how one should never give up on their dreams, no matter what.

This collaboration is a perfect one: Rimbui’s beats fit in perfectly with the rhythmic stylings of East Africa’s most popular band, while Sauti Sol’s energetic and harmonic vocals go along immensely well with up tempo (truly African) beats.
