Video Of the Week: Lovin This Home - Jason Corder

You have seen him on your TV screens before, on programs like ‘Stay’ which aired on KTN and ‘Mali’ on NTV. He makes the perfect villain. However, acting as a bad guy is not the only thing that comes easy to Jason Corder. The man can sing, really sing as showcased in single ‘Stay’ (which was co-written with Kanja) and most importantly, ‘Loving This Home’ which is this week’s video of the week.

The official video for Corder’s “Lovin This Home” is quite interesting. For starters it takes on goth characters, in line with most people’s expectations of rock music videos. The multi racial cast portrays eccentricities in the form of piercings and other forms of body art giving us this feel that home is really where the heart is content and not wjat is most familiar.

However, what is most pleasant about the video is that aside from the goth, it actually tells a story and incorporates art mediums. The video follows a group of entrepreneurial friends through their struggle, making sales pitches and finally taking their product to the field.

The video was shot on location in Nairobi, with Kwame Nyong’o playing a big part in the filming, Justin Purefoy was the director while Ash Jivu (Jenkins) did the editing.

We know that Jason Corder is a great actor, ‘Lovin This Home’ is tempting us to say the same about his singing. Think we are joking, check out this 2013 release and see how right we are.
