ChilliMango to thrill Afro-Urban Fashion Lovers at UP Live III

ChilliMango clothing is a concoction of culture, modern garments and street fashion. ChilliMango specializes in Afro-Urban street wear from Kenya, a strain between African and Hip Hop influenced creations featuring funky t-shirts, kanga hoodies, sweatshirts, kanga pullovers, beanies and quirky clothing. Njeri Gikera runs the clothing line and has been for 3 years now. Widening their brand, they have ambitious projects lined up including releasing short animation films, launching it as an international brand. No forgetting to give back to the community, they intend to start a few free art centres for the underprivileged.

Starting out proved difficult and finding materials, suppliers and places to sell their products were some of the greatest challenges, Njeri tells us. This proves that you can always pass your expectations if you work hard and focus on what’s important to you. Having faced adversity, she has enjoyed the ride and recommends others to follow in her footsteps and start on their own business. That is if you have the patience to “Start small”, and “Work hard.”

Don’t concentrate on the competition; use that energy instead to improve your product and your skill-set. “Three things to live and work by are patience, perseverance and persistence,” says Njeri.
