Fish fingers that will get you licking your fingers and wanting more even though you undid the buttons on your pants and can’t really stand straight. Yes, they are really generous with their food. Their greens are overcooked most of the time but they can be forgiven because of … fish fingers (did we mention that already?).

It is never empty so, be nice to whoever you share a table with and enjoy the food.

 

 

Bobo’s- Banda Street

 

You don’t have to fly halfway around the world for Turkish food. Bobo’s specializes in doner kebabs, shawarmas, Turkish pides (pizza) and other Turkish delicacies. They also serve various coffees, beers and wine. Grab a wrap for breakfast, lunch or before a night out. Their portions are perhaps a bit on the small side but when it boils down to it, we still feel that what with it being the only international restaurant of its type, you are getting good value for your money. o

 

Rayans Restaurant- Off Koinange Street

 

If you crave Somali dishes, Rayans is the perfect spot. Just don’t go there when you are in a hurry. The waiters will take their time before they take your order or bring a menu-especially if you are not Somali. We have no idea why they do that but they should stop!

However, the wait is always worth it when your huge chunk of juicy camel with pilau lands on your table. They never disappoint!

 

Chef In A Box- Moi Avenue across Jevanjee gardens

 

Decadence, decadence, decadence! Think cheeses, alcohol, comfy couches and amazing service. All meals are a feast served with a generous portion of salad. They make their omelettes just the way we like them, filled with cheese and bacon. Yum Yum!

 

Sonfords Fish and Chips- Moi Avenue

What you’ve never been to Sonford’s after a hard night out? Well sorry but in that case you just haven’t lived. Sonford is just lush, don’t listen to those health conscious haters. Given that during day hours their fries taste like they were fried in fermented transformer oil but after a pint and some… they taste like a gourmet dish made in heaven! And let’s not get into the chicken. Double baked and then fried… this is truly food for the gods.

As any fast food joint, the samosas are tiny oil sponges and the fish fillet is just a film of fish covered in flour and baking powder. The sodas there are good though because they don’t make them there. To the guys though, don’t ever take your lady there for a date!
