IMAX Max Experience, San Andreas

The film left us on the edge of our seats from beginning to end and is arguably the best movie from The Rock, Dwayne Johnson.

The well scripted plot takes you from the comfortable seat to a seemingly ideal day turned disastrous when California’s notorious San Andreas Fault triggers a devastating, magnitude 9 earthquake, the largest in recorded history. As the Earth cracks open and buildings start to crumble, Ray Gaines (Dwayne Johnson), an LAFD search-and-rescue helicopter pilot, must navigate the destruction from Los Angeles to San Francisco to bring his estranged wife (Carla Gugino) and their only daughter (Alexandra Daddario) to safety.

With nothing much on the trailer, we went to this movie expecting the jaw wrecker Dwayne Johnson on Hercules or his heavy punches on Fast and Furious movie but left the theatre with tears on our eyes.

This is one side of Dwayne Johnson, we rarely get to see- the emotions and tears. From a pending divorce to his daughter trapped and he can’t help her, one has to feel it for such a father. That is the role Dwayne Johnson takes. We cried for 5 minute straight towards the end, as we found myself rooting for The Rock’s daughter Blake [Alexandra Daddario] as she is drowning from the Tsunami that hit S.F.’s Knobb Hill district towards the end of the film during a 9.6 magnitude quake.

The film is a must see! Will this be the day for the long overdue, massive 150 year San Andreas Fault line quake? That day comes in “San Andreas” and is capture with cinematic excellence by director, Brad Peyton.
