The A-ffair re-branded to Sayari Live
You must remember The Affair, a popular live band show which was started in 2009 and was happening at Alliance Française. Well, it is back and now known as Sayari Live! Saturday 12th April will be the first of its return and performances will feature Atemi Oyungu and Dan Aceda. The new show will now be held at the Carnivore Simba Saloon. “As we have grown the venue became a little too tight for the audiences that came and we have chosen a larger venue. Also at the carnivore we are able to provide the audience with a larger selection of drinks and an option to have dinner, which was not possible before. We will still play concerts at The Alliance whenever we get a chance because we love that venue,” said show creator Dan Aceda says that this shift was necessary to provide the audience a better experience. Dan Aceda is also a respected artist in Kenya, well-known and celebrated for this meticulous love and propagation of the benga genre. In fact, one of his albums was titles, “Benaganology”.
Regarding change of name, Aceda says, “We are looking to develop the show to a higher quality and we needed to create differentiation. After we did The Affair in 2009, every other concert picked up the name and started adding it to their concert names, which diluted our brand a little. So we have chosen to go this way. We still promise high quality live music performances and an excellent all round experience for our audiences. And with all the work we have put in to this we are definitely better than we have ever been.” So now you know where you ought to be this April. UP Magazine will not miss.
