Top Ten Tuesdays- Shooters

In the spirit of Celebrating Nairobi and Nairobi Cocktail week, we’d like to give you enough information to get you through cocktail week. Today, its all about shooters. Luxardo Sambuca is the official shooter for NCW 2014. Shooter? For who? For why?

Short, potent drinks that are mixed with a combination of spirits, liqueurs and non-alcoholic mixers, are served in shot glasses and consumed with one tip of the glass.

Here are some simple shooters you can share with your friends at a party or order at Nairobi Cocktail Week.

Remember, shooters can floor you! So, drink responsibly.

 

 

1. Slippery Nipple

Irish Cream Liquer

Luxardo Sambuca

Preparation

Pour the Irish Cream Liquer in a shot glass and top it up with Sambuca.

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Sambilla

Tequila

Luxardo Sambuca

Preparation

Pour equal amounts of Sambuca and tequila in a shot glass.

 

 

 

 

 

3. Spice-a-rue

Amarula

Cinnamon

Luxardo Sambuca

Preparation

Pour the sambuca in a shot glass, top up with amarula and sprinkle some cinnamon on.

 

 

 

 

 

4. Italian Trinity

3 coffee beans

Luxardo White Sambuca

Preparation

Put the coffee beans in a shot glass,top up with sambuca and light the sambuca. Let it burn for a few seconds and down it!

5. Sweet Death

Beefeater Gin

Absolut Vodka

Luxardo Cinammon Sambuca

Icecream

Preparation

Pour equal portions of gin, vodka and sambuca in a shot glass and top up with your favorite icecream.

 

 

 

6. Waithaka Fury

Absolute Vodka

Tequila

Peach Schnapps

Luxardo Pomegranate Sambuca

Preparation

Layer the ingredients into the shot glass starting with the Sambuca. Do not stir.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

7. Lightbulb

Luxardo Sambuca

Tabasco Sauce

Irish Cream

Preparation

Mix it all up in a shot glass and knock back.

 

8. Banana Boat

Grenadine

Luxardo Sambuca

Banana Cream

Irish Cream Liqueur

Preparation

Layer the ingredients in a shot glass and top up with a few drops of geradine.

 

 

 

 

9. Fiona

Havana Club 3 YO Rum

Luxardo Sambuca

Beefeater Gin

Vanilla IceCream

Preparation

Shake with ice and pour into a chilled shot glass and top up with icecream

10. Lemon Drop

Absolut Vodka

Beefeater Gin

Fresh squeeze lemon juice

Sugar

Luxardo Sambuca

Preparation

Frost the glass with lemon juice and sugar. Pour in all the ingredients and into the shot glass and light it.
