Mexican Cartoonist In Exhibition. Ongoing till November 17th.

The Embassy of Mexico pays tribute to Mexican cartoonist, illustrator and artist, José Guadalupe Posada—celebrated as the first humorist in modern art. His work has influenced many Latin American artists because of its satirical acuteness and political engagement.Presented on the occasion of the “Day of the Dead” (Dia de los Muertos) celebrations; the exhibition includes his famous skulls (calaveras), the ubiquitous images of death come alive, symbolizing Mexico’s intimate relationship with death. A display of altars and shrines in honor of departed souls will also be presented in association with the French School students. Entry is free.
