Visit to Kibera (SPOKEN WOR:L:DS)

Fellow SPOKEN WOR:L:DS project artist, the highly-acclaimed rapper Octopizzo, shall take his colleagues on a tour of Kibera. Proud to hail from the slum that he helped popularized through its matatu route: ‘Number Nane’, Octopizzo will give the Kenyan and German guests a walking tour of his hood. This event begins at 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is free to attend.

SPOKEN WOR:L:DS is a unique week-long project bringing together 16 poets, rappers and spoken word artists from Kenya and Germany in Nairobi. The aim is for them to translate each other’s work not only from one language to another but across the boundaries of genre and imagination.
