We all remember these songs, they were total ear worms when they came out. But let’s be honest you really shouldn’t be caught singing these songs in public. When they were released at the time you may have not understood the sexual innuendo in all these, but time passes and you listened to these songs again, you put two and two together and realized exactly what these musicians were talking about (or maybe not).
Deux Vultures - Kinyaunyau
The duo Deux Vultures was made of the members Colonel Mustapha ( Daudi Mustapha) and Nasty Thomas (Thomas Konzanga).
The song Kinyaunyau was a euphemism for women, and a euphemism for the parts that indeed made them women.
This took me a minute to realize as obvious as it was.
Flexx - Amejibeba
This song was from the infamous Flezz who was part of the CAlif Records collective, this song was about a woman of course and her bootylicious self and how her lady parts mesmerized him; this song was a bit more obvious than most.
Xyzee Kinyama
This song was from the singing duo Xyzee which was made up of two brother Alex and Santos. They had many major hits at the time with Kinyama being one of them. This song again is about a woman’s hind regions with the most iconic line from the song being
“Shake it! Usichoke gal just, shake it! Tingisha kwa hasira girl, shake it! Pole pole sasa…”
C.M.B. Prezzo ft A.Y. - Nipe Nikupe
This song is from a Kenyan hip hop veteran Prezzo, at the time Prezzo and his affiliates were trying to emulate Birdman and Lil’ Wayne of YMCMB, and so Prezzo went by the title C.M.B Prezzo. The song title loosely translates to ‘give me I give you…’ I’m sure we can all read between lines as to what they are talking about it this song.
Pilipili ft Ratatat - Morale
Pilipili came on to the music scene during a time where artists had really unique and sometimes hilarious stage names like Dudu Baya and Bedbug. This song is on this list just because of this iconic line in it
“Vipi mama, unanibamba na ma-vitu tatatam ebu come come, niko na ham ham ya kuzinyamnyam, ukinipa zamzazam nitazinyanyam..”

Flexx ft Juacali - Nyundo
Flexx makes another appearance on our throwback thursday list, with a song featuring Jua Kali.
Who would’ve have thought that a song with the title Nyundo could be about anything other than construction is beyond me. But this song- when you pay attention clearly gives off some sexual vibes. Jua Kali’s line in the song confuses me a bit though what does “nifupishe, nirefushe alafu nikate…” mean?
