What categorizes one as a foodie? Obviously a love for food is necessary, a love for eating as well as a love for trying new flavours, dishes and food experiences.

A lot of people show off their foodie-ness on instagram and here are some of our favourite African instagram food accounts, we may be biased towards Kenyan accounts a little bit of course.

1. @missmandithrowdown

Who hasn’t heard of Miss Mandi and her throw downs? The self proclaimed throw down queen likes to show us her cooking and eating processes on social media- with Instagram being one of her favourite ways to tell us about the food she’s making or eating. She’s currently completing a challenge for a hundred Kenyan meals and making us all salivate over some of our favourite foods.
2. @africanfoods

This account is run by By Felix Akintunde, who is currently fundraising on indiegogo.com for an African food website and mobile app. The purpose of the website and the app is to create a “point-reward platform” where people can earn points on every recipe they submit. Points can then be converted into cash or used to buy home and kitchen accessories/appliances.

Sounds like an admirable idea https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/recipes-point-reward-system-website-and-apps#/
