Leather garments are great investments and a must-have in your wardrobe. They can be chic, fancy and at the same time, sexy. They can also be really pricey and hence deserve tender care and treatment for a longer period, even to enable you to pass them down to your kids!

Avoid exposing the garment to excessive body oils and perspiration, as this may damage the material. If you want the interior, which is mainly silky, to stop smelling sweaty or smoky, use the right kind of cleaners. Choose to air dry your leather-wear as opposed to expressing them to dry heat, as this will make it crack. You should also store them in clean ventilated areas, other than plastic bags. This will prevent mildew stains.

In case your leather garment acquires stains, ensure you take it immediately to an experienced dry-cleaner, as opposed to using your own home chemicals, which may bring more damage to the apparel.

Colour can fade with time. You can use spray-dyeing, which can protect some colour loss. In case your garment gets scratches and other imperfections, You can also enhance the look with using olive oil, so as to keep the leather supple.

Don’t postpone cleaning your leather garments. Some people wear their leather garments for so long without cleaning, hence it becoming difficult to clean in future. If you fear dipping your garment in water every so often, invest in leather wipes.
