Thee second edition of Nairobi’s hottest hip-hop event is finally upon us. The Alchemist Bar will be host to a true celebration of hip hop culture as we take you through a musical journey from the early 80’s till today. From break beats to trap, new jack to crunk, gangsta rap to grime, Alchemist Boombox is all bringing you everything that is hip-hop. On the line up is DeeJay Kace, T A I O and Mix Master Lenny, who recently did an interview with UP Nairobi.

Yellow Light Machine is an eclectic group of individuals resonating within a chilled and experimental musical flow. Made up of music lovers from different backgrounds, they unite their different voices and ideologies to create something that is felt more than heard. Independent Reggae Artist Mighty Joshua engages audiences by opening minds and activating bodies through song. Conscious lyrics flow freely to create distinctive refrains that pulse with pride against rhythms rooted in percussion. His soulful exploration in the evolution of sound creates an expression of reggae for the modern day. Come witness the collaboration of these two separate entities in a night of some of the most eclectic sounds Nairobi will ever witness.
There will be live performances by Gravitti Band and EA Wave,visual art stalls by Jebet Naava and Imeldah Kondo, art & clothing stalls by Bonkerz, Bongosawa Republik and Nyeks Apparel, tattoos and piercings by Natural Stripes.

The Gigiri Beer Festival is an event that features several beer brewers and distributors from all over the country showcasing their signature drinks and attracting both enthusiasts and a crowd. At the Gigiri Beer Festival, beer drinkers will converge to experience and sample a variety of local and international beers that are available in Kenya. DJs Erico and Jody Biz will be on the decks, and the Gravitti Band & Rhythm City Band will provide live music entertainment.

Sound System Sessions with Umojah Sound System

Umojah Sound System is Kenya’s first homemade reggae dub sound system, built with guidance from the legendary Highness Sound System. The Umojah crew aims to create conscious awareness through the use of positive reggae. They will launch their full rig with the ever blazing Empress Black Omolo. By far the heaviest rig in East Africa with a weighty 6 bass bins, this behemoth of a sound will shake the very fibres of your inner soul!
The lineup features Empress Black Omolo, Lavosti, Ras Mtapa, Jah Pillar, Jah Ises and DJ Heartical backed by the Umojah Sound Selektas Ras Lyonheart and Mzizi.
